Frustrated romance novel ghostwriter Luisa Lewis has rented a cabin in northern Michigan to escape Manhattan and finish her latest rewrite, but the cabin’s caretaker is famed accused murderer, Rosalind Sandaker. Luisa bumbles her way through Rosalind’s untimely visits and quickly discovers that the town is full of colorful—if questionable—characters. When one of her neighbors goes missing, Luisa gets drawn into the investigation in a myriad of incriminating ways. A card-carrying caffeine/tequila addict with an overactive imagination, Luisa makes more trouble than friends and yet still somehow manages to solve both her own career problems and the mystery.
